Christine Marie Photos

Here are a random bunch of photos of me taken by Tolga. Most of these photos are head shots. He was in this mode where he was practicing lighting, no lighting, one light, back lighting, different settings, steady flash, soft box lighting, beauty lighting. etc.

Bunny Gift Tags

Here are some gift tags that you can print to go along with your Easter baskets or other gifts. So what is the real meaning of Easter anyway?

This is the season of holy days: Passover, Pascua, Holy Friday and Easter Sunday. For many Christians, the ritual of this Easter weekend will be punctuated by bursting pink and yellow dresses on little girls, and magnificent hats on their mothers and grandmothers. There will be Easter baskets filled with chocolate eggs and plush bunnies.

As joyous as the day is, Easter and the season of Lent are also a period of great introspection. — NPR

So how did the Easter Bunny become associated with the resurrection of Jesus Christ?

Feminine Backgrounds

I have a few feminine backgrounds here that I made in Photoshop. Tolga made me the heart in Maya and I just love it. These graphics are copyright-free so you can use them however you wish. I will be adding lots more on this very same page (instead of as separate blog posts,) so check back on this page regularly.

Also – visit my site www.gingerbreadinteractive.com for more feminine web stuff.

I L❤VE Flowers

I am fanatically, passionately, obsessively in love with flowers.

❀ ❀ ❀

I am not sure why they mesmerize me so, but I can barely pass a bouquet or a flower garden without stopping to study them, smell them, feel their velvet petals.

When I take time out to smell the roses, and suddenly my whole world becomes strong, beautiful, blissful and centered. Read more »

My Last Name is a Heart

Years ago when I divorced, I decided to legally change my name to “Christine Marie” – the name I went by as a children’s book author. When I signed my name on the state’s name-change papers, I added a heart after my signature – like I always did.  When the papers came back, to my surprise, there was a heart after my name. I thought it was just a sweet thing someone did. However, during the sale of my farm, attorneys involved checked with the state, then informed me that I had to add hearts to all my signatures to make them legal. Without them, we could not close the sale. So I added all the hearts, and thus it is. In other words, my legal last name is spelled like this: ❤.

I also put up a site for my professional information. The link in the mention above goes there. It’s fun and fascinating to figure out wordpress and see how it will interact with various iPad apps.

That site can also be accessed through www.christinemarie.info. Read more »

Photos by Tolga

The last few days, whenever Tolga takes a break from coding, he takes pics of me. He’s been practicing using gels, different lighting techniques, posing, and other skills that he is learning from master photographers on the Internet. He’s becoming amazing, actually.

I keep telling him to get a model…poor guy, stuck with me.

The Beauty of Roses

Roses cry out to me almost as if they cast a spell. I can’t walk by a rose bush without gazing in awe, wishing I had my camera with me.

April 6, 2011 is the Day

On April 6, 1453, Mehmed II began his siege of Constantinople – now Istanbul. This is also the date the poet Petrarch first saw his idealized love, Laura, in the church of Saint Clare in Avignon. That was 1327.  It’s the date the Mormon church was organized in 1830, the day the Scots signed the Declaration of Arbroath so they could keep wearing their tartans. Yay! It’s the day in 1947 that the first Tony Awards were  presented for theatrical achievement. April 6, 1930 is the day Gandhi raised a lump of mud and salt and declared, “With this, I am shaking the foundations of the British Empire” beginning the Salt Satyagraha.

And last but not least, April 6, 2011 is the day Christine Marie put up “Christine Marie Blog.

It’s hardly a monumental day for the world.

But it is a day.
